Mortal Shell 2 Mods: Mod-Support & Nexus Mods

Are there mods for Mortal Shell II?
Unbestätigt. No source we collected confirms official mod support, official mod tools, or an established modding scene for Mortal Shell II. Mortal Shell II shipped on August 20, 2026, so the modding community is at the earliest possible stage even if one is forming.
We have not verified the existence of a Nexus Mods page for the game, so we will not link to one or describe mods we have not seen.
What is confirmed
Official mod support: not confirmed. Neither the Steam page, the official website nor the publisher's page mentions mod tools, a workshop, or modding documentation.
Note the wording carefully: "not confirmed" is not the same as "no". Absence of an announcement is not proof that modding is unsupported. We will not write "Mortal Shell II has no mod support" until a source actually says so.
Engine: not confirmed. Search interest in the engine is high and community discussion speculates, but we could not verify the engine or its version from an official source. Do not assume Unreal because it is common — that is exactly the kind of plausible guess that ends up quoted as fact.
Cheat tools are being searched for. Trainer and cheat table queries appear in player search trends. That tells you players want them; it does not tell you any exist or are safe.

Why modding a Souls-like is different here
Mortal Shell II's progression is built on resources that appear to be limited per playthrough — Glimpses for Shell bonds, Tar Core for top-tier Tarstones. That design makes save-editing and cheat-engine style mods unusually tempting, and unusually risky.
Modifying game files or memory can corrupt a save, trigger anti-cheat or anti-tamper systems, and void any chance of recovering a broken profile. It is also not supported by Cold Symmetry or Playstack. If you mod, back up your save first and expect no help if something breaks.
The safe things you can do without mods
If your goal is to make the game easier, Mortal Shell II already ships the tools:
- The Slayer Seal is the built-in easy mode. It grants the Gloom Slayer perk, a Slayer Punch that dashes in and inflicts break damage, and restores health and resolve on a glorious riposte. It is the strongest defensive option in the game and it disables achievements on that save.
- Weapons can be respecced later in the game. You do not need a mod to undo a bad investment.
- Skill points are shared across Shells and refundable at any time. Experiment freely.
If your goal is cosmetic or quality-of-life changes — a field-of-view fix, for example — note that the game already has an action mode / immersion mode camera toggle, and that players report immersion mode's tighter field of view behaves unpredictably. Switching to action mode is the supported fix.
Known issues that look like mod problems
The community bug megathread covers crashes, NVIDIA shader-cache issues, controller problems, missing rewards, quest softlocks and combat bugs. Several of these — particularly missing rewards and quest softlocks — are the exact symptoms players blame on mods when no mods are installed.
Before you assume a mod broke something:
- Remove any third-party overlays and injection tools.
- Clear the NVIDIA shader cache if you are on an NVIDIA GPU.
- Verify game files through Steam.
- Update your GPU drivers.
What a healthy mod scene would need
For reference, a usable mod scene for a game like this generally requires unpacking tools for the game's archive format, a community-standard loader, and a stable engine version. None of those are confirmed to exist for Mortal Shell II yet.
We will update this page when
- an official mod tool or workshop is announced
- a verified mod repository publishes Mortal Shell II entries
- a community loader is confirmed working on the shipping build
- the engine is confirmed from an official technical source
Until then every field stays not confirmed, and no value is filled in from speculation.
